Patty, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

a fine man  / Eric Marcotte (college friend )
Patti,
Justin was one of my favorite people, an incredible man, 10 years more mature than the rest of us on First Berg (Taylor.)  I can't think of him without the smell of black shoe polish and the sight of his grin coming to mind, hearing him comment about one of our teenage remarks.  Even then he was a fine man and far beyond us in experience and wisdom.  I am a fool to have not known him since and to be regretting that only now.
My prayers are for you and your children, Mrs. Peterson. May you always be aware of the arms of Jesus around you.  Eric Marcotte, MD
May God's presence be with you, Patti and family  / David Bell (Friend from College )
I knew Justin at Taylor as we lived on the same floor for three years.  He was and obviously continued to live as a man of integrity who loved and followed Jesus.  Thinking of him just brings a smile to my face - the memories of laughter, fun, and soccer!  My heart goes out to you, Patti, and your family, especially your children.  May they remember their daddy from life and through memories.  And may Jesus be so present to you right now as He cares for you, comforts you, and mourns with you in losing Justin.  May His grace be sufficient for all your needs!

Praying for you  / Ruthanne O'Brien (ex co-worker of Patty )
To Patty, children, and family,

I taught school with Patty at Macomb Christian some years ago. I taught in the room next door to Patty's and we talked often about Patty and Justin during breaks in our busy days. She loved him very much, and I am very sad that this has happened. It is hard to know why some people have to endure such heartache, but I know that God is faithful in the hard times as well as the good times.
I want Patty and her family and Justin's family to know that there are so many people who care about them and are praying for them because we are God's Church. It is our job to lift each other up in prayer and to care for each other, and we will do that. Please know that people are praying for you and loving you!          Ruthanne O'Brien

To the Captain's Wife, Children & Family,

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with the Captain Peterson back in 2001 on his first training exercise with 1/24 to 29 Palms, CA.  Captain Peterson was the kind of person who was there for his Marines and his Sailors.

I spent 23+ yrs in the U.S. Navy (9 of them with the U.S.M.C.) and I have meet alot of great Marines, Captain Peterson is one of those Marines, he was always there to help and to listen if youneeded to bend an ear.  The Captain helped 1/24 to have a GREAT Navy/Marine Corps team in ensuring the mission was completed and the personnel received the best supplies and equipment to take care of an injured or sick Marine or Sailor.

Captain you and I had some great talks about a variety of things and I thank-you for that.

You will be missed by the poeple who Love you and care about you.  But you will be missed by the Maines and Navy Hospital Corpsman who knew you and respected you.

SEMPER FI Captain !!

BRAVO ZULU on a JOB WELL DONE !!

I served with Captain Peterson at 1st Tanks, 29Palms CA.  We were the OIC and SNCOIC, respectfully, for the supply shop.  He was a true leader of Marines who cared about the task at hand while also caring about the welfare of his Marines.  He motivated us to accomplish the mission and always gave us a good laugh while we were working, with one of his stories.  It was an honor to serve with him and I consider it a privilege to have known him and he will forever be a part of my life.  Patty, you and the children are in our thoughts and prayers.  And Sir, when we meet again, the next one is on me.  Semper Fidelis!

Capt Peterson was an awesome Marine and leader.  It was an honor to have served with him in Detroit with 1/24.  I am proud to have to have known such a fine Marine who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.  He will surely be missed by his fellow Marines, family, and friends.  The Peterson family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Justin always made me smile!  / Melynie (Cote) Hall (Friend)
I attended SCS with Justin and Taylor University.   My memories of Justin are of a passionate and skilled soccer player.  He had a warm smilie and a big personality.  I appreciated seeing his friendly and familiar face at Taylor.  I remember conversations with him about joining the Marine's, he was enthusastic and passionate about the opportunity to serve.

My husband is an AF pilot currently deployed.  We also have three small children, including a baby girl born around the same time as Justin's daughter.  My heart aches for your loss.  Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. Close

It has been a long time since your family and ours served together in Paducah, KY.  We know the pride you feel for Justin's service as our youngest, Joel served in Afghanistan. It is obvious that Justin is loved by all who knew him.  Our memories of him are from the days of chidren's church when we had a wonderful time learning about God's love and God's plan for each of us.  We know that what he gained from the Word of God and his walk with the Lord through the years and from many people who influenced his life stood him in good stead for what was to be God's will for him.  His example and patriotic service was selfless and supreme and will remembered with the highest respect from each of us touched by his beautiful life.  God bless each of you.  You are in our prayers.
