Can't belive I just found out  / Michael M. (Worked with BTT )

Apparently it's been some time, but I'm just finding out.  My deepest sympathies, to all of the Captain's family and friends.

I never wouldn't have met or worked with Captain Peterson if it weren't for me being fortunate enough to be assigned to the boarder to help with security issues.  The few times I was allowed to join the team he was one of the absolute leaders that made the most of the job, even if it was an undesireable assignment for most.  He was such a positive influence to the men he was training as well.  I saw him every day, and I can't really remember ever seeing him in anything other than a positive mood.  If I was having a lousy day, I'd stick my head in to the tent and most of the time, him and a few of the others were there watching Boone Dock Saints or another movie that they'd already watched a dozen times before.  He was a great man who did great things.

God Bless Sir,  you'll be in my prayers.

'Nakeeb' Mike

So sorry for your loss  / Misty Day (sister of fallen Marine Cpl. Rusty Washam )

The Fallen
Written by Andrea Senter

They never thought when they left here
their families they'd see no more
No one dares to think about
The high price of such a war.

If you asked them why they did it
They'd say because it was right
Someone has to stand up
And someone has to fight

A world away they defend our cause,
as we tuck our kids in bed.
Some give all for all of us,
And somewhere tears will be shed.

They do not ask for fame or fortune
Just that we recognize
We are here, free, today,
Because the fallen have paid the price.

~THANK YOU JUSTIN~

I lost my brother Marine Cpl. Rusty Washam February 14, 2006 in Iraq by a suicide bomber he was only 21. People keep saying it will get easier as time goes by its almost been a year since we lost Rusty but it feels like yesterday. I will keep your family in my prayers. May God Bless you and help heal your Broken Hearts from this huge loss.

Patti, with love and respect....  / David Litty (Friend from Taylor )
...my prayers are for you and your children.  Thx to Justin for letting me have a few of his MRE's on 1st Berg (those were nasty).  Thx as well for the constant use of his matching ties and suspenders (and dress shirts for several of my class presentations throughout the years).  Patti, was it because of you that he always dressed so nice? :)
Justin, thank you for your service (as well as all the marine friends that post their condolences here), it is because of the "veteran" that we in our country have our freedoms.
........Justin, you've fought the good fight, you've run the race, and you've won.  I'll see you when I get there :)

I just learned about this tonight and am stunned.  The pictures of him with his children are touching.  I remember Justin quite well and have to agree with Eric Marcot on each and every point.  Thankfully all of us can be in peace knowing where he is now.

I remember Justin in soccer and having to work on some part of his lower extremeties during that time, (being one of the student trainers).

Anyway, I know this is late, but I will be thinking and praying for you for a while. Close

Somehow, I hadn't heard about Justin until just today.  I'm so so sorry.  The interactions I had with Justin and Patty at the Ringvelski and Frizzell weddings were great.  He was such a nice funny guy that I'm sure all of you will miss terribly.  I'm so, so sorry.  Close

Patty, I'm not sure if you remember me but I saw Justins picture in the Catholic Church and just found it so hard to swallow.  It was just last year when my husband was deployed and we were meeting for the first time at the Community Center to start the Co-op.  I'm glad to have known such a strong woman as yourself.  God bless you and your sons.  My husband is back over in Iraq right now for his second deployment.  Its scary, I dont know what more to say about it.  My prayers go out to you and your entire family.  I'll never forget your hero.   Close

Myself and everyone who spent a year at Expeditionary Wafare School with Justin, Aug '04 though May '05 were honored to  have had the privelage to know him. Always enthusiastic, selfless, and always seeking to become the best Marine Officer he could be. He was fun to be around and motivating to his peers. He was just an incredible Marine and an incredible person to be around. He will be remembered always and will never be far from our thoughts and prayers. Our prayers go out to his wife and family. May the Lord be with you, bless you and help you through this time period. If there is anything that you need please let us know. There have been a ton of e-mails going out amongst us Marines, over the last several weeks at work. Close

HONOR-COURAGE-COMMIT-MENT / Mike Calin (served with 1/24 )
My Condolances,  After hearing the news I wanted to let Captain Peterson's family to let them know what an incredible Marine he is.
I only served with Captain Peterson for short time but he made an everlasting impression on me and the stories I tell  about how to have Honor-Courage-Commitment are said with him in mind.
Captain Peterson will always be in my mind what the United States Marine  is all about, and his sacrifice and never wavering commitment to family, god,  and country will be told by myself as long as breath.  Godbless to the family you will be in my prayers.

BRAVO- ZULU   job well done Captain !!    ThankYou for your sacrifice,

A Great Man, Wonderful Friend and a Tremendous Marine  / Captain Lefty Lefringhouse (Fellow MWSG 27 Lt. )
I had the pleasure of knowing Justin for about  1 1/2 years at Cherry Point while we were both assigned within MWSG-27.  As two of the few Lieutenants on the entire Cherry Point MCAS, we all stuck together.

Whether at work (as a 1st Lt filling a Majors billet), chores around the house (I couldn't keep that man from washing his truck) or helping out friends (spending weeks helping John put in fence posts around his farm to keep the cows in) or just plain horsing around, Justin did it with gusto.  Even talking about Patti.  He talked incessantly about her, even though talking about marriage around a bunch of fellow single Lieutenants is grounds for a good beating.

He's was a good man.  Know that the world is a better place because of him and everyone who knew him are better people because of him.
